Fetal Alcohol Syndrome

It is not the children's fault that they are born! If people who smoke and drink in excess would think a little before they had sex and impregnate their significant other(s) or if they had more common sense and realize that all that toxins they have in their bodies (system) could potentially damage an infant while in the womb. It is essential for the fetus to be healthy in early gatraulation because the first three weeks are the most harmful to the fetus. In many cases the cause for our illnesses is due to the pregnant mother because they don’t want to change their life style. When women are pregnant it is easier to pass down the illness to their uinborn child and is mainly the cause for the child’s sicknesses and illnesses. When we talk about alcohol we really do not realize how much harm we are causing our-self let alone a child in the womb of its mother. Fetal Alcohol syndrome I do not find it just that a pregnant mother will not change her life style of drinking while pregnant, and not giving the baby a chance to live a normal life. Because of her egotistical self of not wanting to change temporary not for her but for her child if they knew that the embryo is in great danger in the first three month of pregnancy. When a pregnant women drinks alcohol at any stage of pregnancy: it easily passes the placenta and into the fetus harming the baby's development. It is not only the women's fault but the men should take some of the responsibility because it takes two to tangle. We need to be better educated in this matter because there is no reason why a baby should have to suffer with all these symptoms and give it the opportunity to live a normal life.

  1. That is true, but most of the time women who drink either never find out they're pregnant until three weeks later or they're an alcoholic (which makes them unaware of the situation), but in the end they never realize how severe the situation is until the baby is born. Sometimes, alcohol can control you, even make you do things that you would regret, but your right, people need to make smarter decisions when it comes to alcohol. Think before you drink!

  2. I agree that mothers should watch alcohol intake. If a couple that does drink isn't using protection they should be more cautious to the fact that they could get pregnant and check themselves regularly to make sure they will not harm the child by drinking. I think it is hard for some mothers to get away from drinking and smoking especially if the people around them need so it regularly so they start to feel left out and read about wine being okay to drink and think "Oh its okay if I just have one drink" and then start to do too much. Or hear of mothers who did drink or smoke sometime during their pregnancy and didn't harm their child. But no one should take that risk. People should be more educated about this before motherhood so that they are prepared when the time comes.

  3. Robert i totally agree. When I found out that I was pregnant with my first child and I had drank the previous month I was going insane wondering if I had harmed my baby. I don't believe parents that have the ability to have children and do not want to be responsible about it should be having children. The harm that its causing infants and children around the world is just crazy. The outcomes of drinking really depend on how responsible a couple can be and if in doubt mothers and fathers should not drink!!!
